Survey Shows Millions Open the Door to ID Theft Daily
Nearly 13 million American adults said they would accept any social media connection request from a member of the opposite sex, regardless of whether or not they know that person, according to a recent survey by Harris Interactive.
News 8 reports that the survey revealed that men aged 18 to 34 were most likely to open their social networking doors to strangers. One in five said they accepted invites from anyone of the opposite sex.
Unfortunately, most people don’t realize that this opens them up to identity theft. Identity thieves use what they find on profile pages to beat security questions on financial web sites and gain access to account information.
